The best quality Japanese food on Phuket for bargain prices. This is where sushi fans go for sushi as the prices are so reasonable and the quality so good - it just can't be beat. You'll find other Japanese style restaurants on Phuket, but typically they are quite expensive, as they know the Japanese tourists will still find the prices reasonable compared to back home.
The sushi set meal is recommended, it's delicious and priced right. The other sets on the menu are also excellent and certainly favorably priced compared to what you might pay in Japan or other Asian countries.
If you eat at the new Zen in the Central Festival Mall - enjoy a stroll around the mall afterwards - you'll find many good restaurants for your next visit.
The Zen in Patong is located front and center on the beach road. In the same area is the Sakura Restaurant in front of the Baan Laimai and BanThai Hotels - quite well reviewed though a bit more upscale and pricey. The teppanyaki is reputed to be excellent there.
After a great dinner or lunch stroll the beach road for shopping bargains and some great ice cream or gelato shops - or cruise the beach front.
